Public Affairs Officer
The Association for Eye Care Providers (FODO) and the National Community Hearing Association (NCHA) are the professional representative bodies for community eye and hearing care providers in the UK. We and our members are committed to better eye and hearing care for all. We shape the future of eye and hearing care by working with governments, the NHS, third sector partners and influencers across health and social care.
We have a new opportunity for an energetic public affairs officer to help transform eye and hearing care in the UK.
We are looking for a junior professional to work with the Heads of Policy and Public Affairs to develop and deliver the public affairs aspects of our strategic policies and goals. The successful candidate will bring to the role good knowledge of the workings of government and parliamentary procedure, the ability to present complex information in an easily digestible way, and strong relationship building skills.
We are looking for someone to hit the ground running, working in this supported yet autonomous role. There are opportunities to advance within the group structure.

- Experience of developing and maintaining public affairs contacts in parliament, government and with other stakeholders (ideally within a healthcare environment),
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Good analytical and fact-finding skills
- Good IT (Microsoft Office) and social media skills.
