Hearing aid sales show steady growth
Hearing aid sales rose slightly in the first quarter of 2024, the British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) reports.
First-quarter data shows a 10.2% increase in sales to the UK private sector and a 14.5% rise in sales to the NHS compared with the last quarter. In the Republic of Ireland, total hearing aid sales increased by 5.1%.
Year-on-year sales to the private sector were up 3% but fell 4% in the public sector.
Sales of rechargeable hearing aids, which increased across all sectors, make up 87% of private sales in the UK.
