NCHA is now consulting on Quality in Primary Care Audiology (QiPCA)
As we committed to in Primary care audiology, accessible ear and hearing care for all, the NCHA Clinical Guidance Committee has produced the first version of Quality in Primary Care Audiology (QiPCA) and is now inviting feedback.
QiPCA is a practical framework to support primary care audiology providers with evidence, governance and continuous improvement. It is designed to help services demonstrate that care is safe, effective and well governed, giving patients, commissioners and the wider profession greater confidence in service quality.
The QiPCA framework is set out in a PDF, with an accompanying Excel workbook for provider self-assessment. Please note that the Excel workbook currently includes example dummy responses in the ‘response’ column to demonstrate how the self-assessment tool functions. These entries are illustrative only and should be deleted or replaced by providers when completing their own self-assessment. The excel workbook should be opened in desktop to ensure correct functionality.
This consultation is focused on the usability, clarity and value of the QiPCA framework as a provider led quality improvement tool. It is not an assessment of individual provider compliance, and responses will be used to refine the framework before wider implementation. You can provide feedback via this online form.
The consultation runs for 6 weeks until 1 August 2026.
We encourage all stakeholders and providers to review the materials and share feedback to help shape the final version of QiPCA.
