Launch Event: National Commissioning Framework 19 July

The NHS is inviting leading experts from academia, the public and private sector, politics, the third sector and people living with hearing loss to discuss the current and future challenges posed by hearing loss.

The launch of the National Commissioning Framework for Hearing Loss Services will take place at Portcullis House on Tuesday 19 July.

The event will serve as an important marker one year on from the publication of the Action Plan on Hearing Loss and will provide first hand insights into the the new best practice commissioning standards from NHS England.

The purpose of the launch will be to recognise that for the first time ever commissioners for hearing services in England have access to a national framework to identify gaps in existing knowledge and prioritise new areas for improvement and innovation, alongside exploring the broader question of how we can create sustainable health and social care systems to respond to the increased demand for hearing care services.

Delegates will hear keynote speeches from Professor Sue Hill, Chief Scientific Officer for England, (pictured above) and others alongside an address that highlights effective commissioning and patient management, empowering the individual, reducing inequalities, and early diagnosis. It will be followed by a question and answer session.

We encourage people reading here to contact NHS England and reserve themselves a space for this ground-breaking moment in UK hearing care.
