Health Committee urges Government to review NHS and social care funding ahead of Autumn Statement

The Health Select Committee has written to the Chancellor highlighting concerns about the sustainability of health and social care in England.

The Health Committee’s letter highlights concerns about unsustainable NHS finances, the need to do more on preventative care, manage growing demand from an ageing population and the urgent need to invest more in social care.  The Committee also calls for a fresh round of capital funding so that the NHS can deliver transformational change. The Committee has firmly challenged the  government’s figures on NHS investment, which has been widely reported in the media.
