Growth in UK and Ireland hearing care sales
The British and Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) has released Quarter 1 (Jan-March 2017) results for hearing aid sales in the UK.
The data show a total of 425,196 units were supplied in Q1, with 82% purchased for NHS provision and 18% for private provision.
BIHIMA notes that this represents a 10.7% growth in NHS sales and 2% growth in private sales over the same period. BIHIMA also reports that in 2016 hearing aid sales in Ireland hit 55,000 units and that this demonstrates a period of continued growth since the financial crisis.
