New Eurotrak research and hearing aid sales
The latest Eurotrak data was first shared at the inaugural conference of the British and Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) in May and can now be downloaded here. The survey reports that 71% of UK respondents wished they had got their hearing devices sooner – highlighting the importance of raising public awareness and improving access to services in the UK. The majority (74%) of UK respondents reported being satisfied with their hearing device. The reported binaural rate in the UK was however just 68%, suggesting many people are not receiving two hearing aids when they would benefit from them.
Paul Surridge, BIHIMA Chairman, said, “Eurotrak offers invaluable insight into the UK hearing care sector, showing both areas where we are excelling and where we can improve”.
The European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (EHIMA) has also published sales data for 2017. The data show a 5.7% growth on year-on-year sales, with 15.05 million hearing aids sold by six EHIMA members.
