World Health Organisation update
Stakeholders met at the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva 3-4 July to make progress on implementing the World Health Assembly resolution ‘Prevention of deafness and hearing loss’.
The WHO presented plans for a World Report on Hearing, which it plans to publish on World Hearing Day 2020. The report will focus on tackling hearing loss as a public health priority.
The WHO is also in the process of formally launching the World Hearing Forum (WHF), a global network of stakeholders that would facilitate implementation of the World Health Assembly resolution on hearing loss.
The NCHA will continue to engage with the WHO in Geneva and support its work.
