Monitor to review Adult Hearing Services
Monitor has launched a two month consultation into Adult Hearing Services in England
The consultation is due to focus on CCGs which have implemented hearing services through the government’s Any Qualified Provider (AQP) scheme. However, Monitor is also keen to hear from patients and providers in non-AQP areas, for example whether patients would like more choice or have specific feedback on their local services.
"Monitors consultation is timely and welcome," said NCHA Head of Policy Harjit Sandhu. “We hope this will continue to build the evidence base for community hearing services”.
He confirmed that the NCHA was committed to working with all stakeholders to provide Monitor with data, peer reviewed evidence and policy analysis to ensure people, wherever they live in England, have access to high quality, responsive and cost effective care.
“I hope this marks the start of outcomes based commissioning in the sector,” he continued, “where there is a level playing field and, most importantly, a system which is designed around patients and not providers’.
