Monitor’s new guidance follows its evidence-based review of how choice is working for adults with hearing loss.

Monitor published its original findings in March 2015, reporting the NHS could do more for less, improve access and make savings of 20-25% per patient pathway.

On 10 November Monitor published easy to read guidance to help CCGs ensure local hearing services are patient-led. The resources for commissioners include specific guidance on implementing choice, a top tips section, the Department of Health’s Best Practice Guidance and a webinar covering practical lessons for commissioning adult hearing care using AQP.

Commissioners can visit the Monitor guidance directly or find it in the resources section of our website.
