South Norfolk commissioners vote against rationing and align with NHS England
South Norfolk Commissioning Group (CCG) will wait for the National Commissioning Framework for Hearing Services to be published in April 2016 instead of rationing access to hearing care.
NHS South Norfolk CCG began consulting on rationing access to NHS hearing aids last year but decided this week not to restrict access for people with hearing loss.
The CCG will instead wait for the publication of the National Commissioning Framework for Hearing, currently being co-produced by NHS England, local NHS commissioners and other stakeholders.
South Norfolk joins other CCGs in England that decided against rationing and instead opted to align with NHS England and focus on the soon to be published Framework.
