HCPC publishes revised Guidance on conduct and ethics for students
The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) has published revised Guidance on conduct and ethics for students.
The guidance for students has been reviewed to ensure that it continues to be fit for purpose, up-to-date and well understood by students, education providers, practice placement providers and others.
This guidance is based on the Standards of conduct, performance and ethics (SCPE), as these standards apply to both registrants and those applying to be registered.
Michael Guthrie, Director of Policy and Standards at HCPC, said: “Students on HCPC approved programmes are studying to become a professionals in a regulated profession and have certain responsibilities.
“On their programme students will be expected to meet high standards of conduct and ethics as they are trusted with the public’s health and wellbeing. It is therefore crucial that they understand how our Standards of conduct, performance and ethics apply to them.
“We developed the revised guidance through a range of engagement activities with our stakeholders; and students, academic staff, practice placement educators and supervisors will find this document useful.”
