We collected data from NCHA members to provide clear information about the scope and scale of the ear and hearing care services they deliver for patients in the UK.

Access to care closer to home
Patients benefit from access to care from 2,767 high-street locations across the UK.
Patients also benefit from domiciliary services - NCHA members provide ear and hearing care at home throughout the UK.
Patients can access care without a referral from their GP.
97% of patients seen and treated within 12 weeks of arranging their first appointment.
The workforce to meet growing need
Primary care audiology has the workforce and infrastructure to meet growing patient demand.
High-quality ear and hearing care
1.46 million hearing assessments provided in primary care for NHS and self-funding patients.
475,745 patients fitted with NHS or self-funded hearing aids:
- 92% were fitted with two hearing aids.
- 8% were fitted with one hearing aid.
Our members fitted:
- 92% of all self-funded hearing aids.
- 25% of all NHS-funded hearing aids.
More people than ever are benefiting from earwax removal out-of-hospital and closer to home.
When including ongoing care, there were 3,685,474 patient contacts in NCHA member primary care audiology practices across the UK.
